Come and see the Pétolat locomotive on Sunday 20 September from 2 pm to 7 pm at the miniature railway site in Is-sur-Tille.
At one point in its history, our Pétolat locomotive nearly ended up at a scrapyard… By a stroke of luck and chance, we learnt of its existence in the 1970s and were subsequently able to acquire it. Restoring it was a long and difficult process. Securing its classification as a historic monument proved complicated. This locomotive is an important and unique artefact in the history of the Pétolat company in Dijon, Côte-d’Or, which once employed up to 1,200 people.
This Sunday, 17 September, on Heritage Day, it will be proudly on display from every angle and will tell you its story…. And if you’re paying attention and interested, it might even take you for a ride on a carriage on a lovely little tour.
