Église fortifiée de Pichanges
En quelques mots
The fortified church at Pichanges has been a listed historic monument since 1909.
In Burgundy, to take refuge and defend themselves, the villagers often adapted the only important stone building in the village: their church. Such is the case with this fortified church!
An explanatory panel in front of the church details the church's defensive features (stunner, corbels, turret, etc.).
The church has a dual vocation, being dedicated to Saint Laurent and Saint Marc. The stained glass windows in the choir depict them.
It has several statues, most of which have been restored thanks to garage sales organised by the association "Les amis du vieux Pichanges".
Discover the village of Pichanges as a family with our booklet-game, available from the tourist office or as a download.
Pichanges is also the starting point for the Bué discovery trail, a 4.8 km hike that takes in the Bué spring and its legends.
