Lavoir de Marey-sur-Tille
En quelques mots
The 19th-century wash-house at Marey-sur-Tille is the work of the renowned Dijon architect Sirodot. It is decorated with pilasters and an attic masking the zinc roof. Not very common in the Côte-d'Or, it is of the "compluvium" type. This means that it has an open roof in the centre, allowing rainwater to be collected in a basin below the opening. This basin is called an "impluvium". The principle was taken from the architecture of ancient Greek and Roman villas.
The municipality has a second, smaller wash-house, crossed by the Venots stream.
Saint-Loup church (13th and 15th centuries), which can be seen in the same district, was renovated between 2020 and 2025. Restoration work has enhanced the facades and roofs, and preserved the interior murals.
