Les sabots de Vénus de la forêt de Moloy
En quelques mots
Take the D6 at Moloy, then the Combe de Bellefontaine forest road, and you'll discover one of France's largest populations of the lowland Sabot de Vénus in the Moloy state forest.
This species is the largest and one of the most beautiful orchids in Western Europe. At the bottom of this small, steep-sided valley, it finds mountain-like conditions that are harsh enough for it to thrive.
The path has simply been laid out by the ONF to channel the number of visitors to the plot. Information panels are there to raise public awareness and remind people that picking protected plants is punishable by a fine.
Warning: don't walk on the grass as you could trample unopened flowers! Stay behind the safety cordon installed by the ONF.
