En quelques mots
A conservatory orchard is the perfect place for pomology. Do you know what pomology is?
Although the word sounds like "apple", pomology is a branch of fruit growing that deals with the knowledge of all fruits. Pomu means fruit in Latin and comes from Pomona, the goddess of fruit. Each fruit can have several varieties and each variety has different characteristics. For example, one variety of apple may be green, tart and crunchy. Another may be red, very sweet and juicy. Pomology is used to describe, identify and classify fruits according to their characteristics.
If you were to invent your ideal fruit, how would you like it to be: sweet, tangy, juicy...?
Then you can invent a name for it. And that's it, you've invented your first fruit variety!
